Aztec Falls Gameplay

Aztec Falls is an online slot game that is played on a grid made of 5-reels and 3-rows, developed by Northern Light Studios and powered by Microgaming. There are 20 paylines and you can spin the reels for anywhere between 20p up to £40 per spin. You hit a win by landing 3 or more matching symbols from left to right. You should, however, take note of the final reel as this is where the Golden Coin appears, which is what triggers the bonus games.

In terms of the paytable, the regular paying symbols include the playing cards J, Q, K and A. However, it is the special symbols that really stir up the action. There are Sticky Wild stone warriors that you can only land in the free spins round - and the highlight of the game is the Jackpot Wheel, where you can win up to 5,000x your stake.

Aztec Falls Bonus Features

Here are the game’s bonus features:

The Wild: This can stand in for all regular pay symbols to create winning combinations. It also pays 10x your stake for 5 on a payline.

The Coin Drop Bonus: If you land a Golden Coin on the last reel you will trigger the feature. A big coin rolls toward the centre of the top reels. It then drops into a hole and reappears as a smaller version on the reels. It drops ‘pachinko’ style into pins before landing in a Bonus Slot under the reels. It will then trigger one of four features:

  • Wilds: Replaces the symbols on the coin trail with wilds
  • Jackpot: Will trigger the Jackpot Wheel bonus game
  • Stacked: Will award a respin with stacked symbols
  • Multiplier: Boosts your win by 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x

There is also a blank space which does nothing.

Jackpot Wheel: This will guarantee you one of the four fixed jackpots - Mini, Minor, Super and Mega jackpots, which pay out 30x, 200x, 1,000x and 5,000x your stake. You then have the option of gambling your jackpot for the next one up. If you land on the green, you win, if you land on the red, you lose and get a mystery prize.

The Cash Fall Bonus: Randomly triggers in the base game. A bunch of coins will fall down the pachinko matrix. These then end up in cash slots between 0 and 10x your bet. You win a sum of all the coins.

Free Spins: If you land 3 Golden Pyramid scatters on 1,3 and 5 you trigger the 5 free spins. One of the reels will randomly display a wild at the end of the free spin. Then, a stacked totem will come falling down and fill the entire reel. This remains in place for the whole round. This pays the same as regular wild symbols. The free spins can’t be retriggered.

Aztec Falls Review

The game is really original - and has an excellent pachinko element that we don’t often see. Visually, it’s great and the Cash Fall bonus is very popular with players. However, if you want a chance to hit the 5,000x win, you will need to trigger the Jackpot Wheel. If you hit the Mega Jackpot, the big prize is yours.
